The 37th China Fusong Changbai Mountain Ginseng Festival & 2023 Ginseng Industry High-quality Development Conference was in session in Fusong county over the two days of September 11 and 12. Experts, scholars and entrepreneurs gathered at the scene, contributing their wisdom to develop ginseng industry, in an attempt to forge the brand of "Hometown of Ginseng", promote the progress of 100 billion yuan worth of ginseng industry, and accelerate the construction of China ginseng demonstration zone.

Taking into account of both the status quo and the future planning, Baishan city has created a new model of the "ginseng +" industry chain, which, in addition to upgraded industry, high-end products and renowned brands, boasts the three major systems of modern ginseng industry involving production, processing and management, establishing a national ginseng industry cluster, and working hard to revitalize the national traditional Chinese medicine industry and build a 100 billion yuan worth of pharmaceutical and health industry in Jilin province.

In recent years, Fusong county has built a whole ginseng industry chain with favorable policies, guaranteed finance, and technical support from universities and scientific research institutes. It has developed a number of deep processing products with core competitiveness, such as ginseng peptide, and ginseng leaf dropping pills. Five ranges including ginseng food, drinks, medicines, cosmetics, and health products of more than 600 variations are exported to over 30 countries and regions like Japan, the ROK and Singapore. The whole industry chain system of ginseng planting, processing and research and development has been formed, and the medical and health industry dominated by ginseng has developed rapidly. In 2022, the whole industry chain turnover of ginseng in the county reached 17.446 billion yuan. The trading volume of fresh ginseng in Wanliang market is 34,000 tons, or 2.8 billion yuan, and the dried ginseng trade reaches 3 billion yuan.
