City of Allen hires Brandy O’Keefe as new Director of Allen Convention & Visitors Bureau

ALLEN, TX - April 11, 2024 - The City of Allen has appointed Brandy O'Keefe as the new Director of the Allen Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). Drawing upon over two decades of marketing experience, O'Keefe will spearhead efforts at the CVB, paving the path toward establishing Allen as the premier destination in the DFW region.

O'Keefe's professional journey reflects her commitment to revitalizing urban spaces and promoting community engagement. Most recently, as the Downtown Manager for the City of Celina, she implemented the Downtown Master Plan and the Arts & Culture Master Plan, facilitating downtown improvements and beautification projects.

"Brandy brings a dynamic blend of innovative thinking and collaborative spirit to our executive team," said City Manager Eric Ellwanger. "Her leadership will not only elevate Allen as a premier destination but also help fuel economic growth."

During her tenure at the City of Allen, O'Keefe served as the CVB's marketing manager and held various marketing positions within the Public and Media Relations Office and the Allen Parks and Recreation Department. She showcased her prowess in destination marketing by developing innovative strategies and a brand refresh to elevate Visit Allen, TX's brand awareness and identity.

"I'm ecstatic about the opportunity to return to the City of Allen and to serve in such an exciting capacity," said O'Keefe. "Allen has so much to offer business and leisure travelers, and the CVB team is outstanding. I cannot wait to see how we can promote the destination in creative new ways."

With a background in event management, O'Keefe has overseen comprehensive event planning, including logistics and hospitality. As the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission's Director of Events, she played a pivotal role in the planning and execution of the first-ever International Children's Games hosted in the United States, managing registration, security, credentialing, and transportation for over 3,000 individual athletes, coaches, and VIPs within a four-day timeframe.

O'Keefe holds a master's degree in sports management and sports psychology from Georgia Southern University and a bachelor's degree in psychology and health and exercise science from Centenary College.
