Prague bourse back at highest level since 2008, led by CEZ

Prague, April 12 (CTK) - The Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) returned to growth after Thursday's slight decline, keeping at its highest level since the summer of 2008, as its headline PX index gained 0.78 percent to 1,558.96 points today, pulled up mainly by energy company CEZ, according to data from the bourse's website.

Moneta Money Bank and Komercni banka also did well.

"The stock exchange thus improved on its June 2008 high, with the index at its highest closing level since June 20, 2008," said Wood & Company broker Vladimir Vavra.

CEZ shares firmed by 2.73 percent to Kc883 apiece, Moneta added 1.57 percent to Kc103.60, and Komercni banka rose by 0.35 percent to Kc871.

Gains were also recorded by solar power plant builder Photon Energy, beverage maker Kofola and Slovak industrial company Gevorkyan.

The shares of arms maker Colt and drone maker Primoco UAV closed unchanged today.

Austria's banking title Erste Group closed in the red, depreciating by 0.05 percent to Kc1,076.50 per sahare. Austrian insurer VIG weakened as well, erasing 0.41 percent to Kc731.

Tobacco company Philip Morris CZ fell by 0.76 percent to Kc15,680 per share.
