Fatal Single Vehicle Traffic Collision

On March 24, 2024, at approximately 12:32 AM, Fullerton Police Officers responded to the area of N. Gilbert St. and Rosecrans Ave. regarding a single vehicle traffic collision.

On March 24, 2024, at approximately 12:32 AM, Fullerton Police Officers responded to the area of N. Gilbert St. and Rosecrans Ave. regarding a single vehicle traffic collision.

Upon arrival, officers located a gray, 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan with significant front-end damage just north of the intersection on the west side of the street. Officers located the driver, an adult male, inside the vehicle. Sadly, he was pronounced deceased on scene by the Fullerton Fire Department. No other passengers were in the vehicle.

Initial investigation indicates that the Volkswagen was traveling northbound on Gilbert St. at a high rate of speed before colliding with a wall.

The identity of the driver will be released by the Orange County Coroner's Office.

At this time, Accident Investigators do not suspect there to be any other vehicles involved and it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the cause of the collision.
