City of Titusville Annual Floodplain Progress Report Completed

TITUSVILLE, Florida, May 1, 2024 - The annual progress report of the City's floodplain management plan has been completed. This report is a required element of the City's rating under the FEMA National Flood Insurance Program. This rating allows residents of Titusville to continue to enjoy a discount on their flood insurance premiums. The report covers:

1) The City's participation in the countywide hazard mitigation plan

2) The standard operating procedures to maintain the City storm and flood infrastructure and to protect the City stormwater system, the Indian River Lagoon and the St Johns River from unwanted and unnecessary pollution.

3) A review of the City flood ordinance, stormwater regulations, building code amendments and the current FEMA flood maps.

4) Outreach to the community and the dissemination of flood information to the public.

5) A summary of grants and awards towards construction of water quality and stormwater infrastructure projects, and

6) Recommendations for the next reporting cycle.

This report was a collaboration between the Building Department, the Community Development Department, the Planning Department, the Economic Development Department and the Public Works Department. The report is available on the Building Department's webpage at Titusville.com/FloodInformation
