Santa Rosa County Libraries and Animal Services launch Furry Friend Friday events

The Navarre Library, partnered with Santa Rosa County Animal Services, will be the first to participate in "Furry Friend Friday," a new community outreach event starting Fri., Apr. 26, 2 - 3 p.m. at 8484 James M. Harvell Road in Navarre.

The event will focus on educating the public about responsible pet safety practices and adoption opportunities through Santa Rosa County Animal Services. Library staff will read a pet-safety-themed children's book while animal services staff are available with an adoptable puppy and additional educational resources. Bookmarks, stickers and bracelets will be provided as free giveaways.

"We are excited to kick off this outreach partnership with Animal Services," said Library Services Director Lori O'Gara. "Our hope is that the program will improve awareness of the quality of service they provide for our community."

"Furry Friend Friday" will rotate between Navarre Library and Milton Library on the last Friday of every month with the goal of adding more locations in the future.

The Santa Rosa County Library System is a department of the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners. Libraries are located in Gulf Breeze, Jay, Milton, Navarre, and Pace. Find additional information at www.santarosa.fl.gov/librariesor call (850) 981-7323 (READ).
