Meet Jennifer Wellington

Jennifer Wellington joined the staff at West Forest this fall to teach English Language Arts and Family Consumer Science. She recently received her teaching certificate and is currently enrolled in Edinboro University's Master of Education in Teacher Leadership program. Mrs. Wellington has a BS in English with a minor in Social Work from Miami University of Ohio. She also has a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Urban Theology and Community Development from Wesley Theological Seminary. Mrs. Wellington (A.K.A. Rev. Jennifer) spent 12 years in the inner city of Cleveland as an ordained United Methodist Clergywoman. Her second career was as a licensed social worker and counselor, primarily in area youth mental health. Most recently she established the Titusville Branch of Women's Services, a domestic violence and sexual assault prevention, counseling, and advocacy agency.

Mrs. Wellington states, 'I am now ready to embark on my final third of my working career as a teacher. I found that throughout my colorful and varied work life, there have been a few consistencies: my love of the process of education, my commitment to working with those who are often marginalized by society, and my unique ability to build connections with students in those awkward and often disdained teenage years.'

Mrs. Wellington loves living with her family on a farm just outside of Townville, PA. Together they have 4 adult children, two dogs, four cats and 13 chickens. Jennifer enjoys gardening, family dinner and game nights, and telling a good story.
