Osaka, Japan (April 17, 2024) - Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. will host the YANMAR STEAK COOK-OFF, a Steak Cookoff Association (SCA) accredited steak contest on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Yanmar Sunset Marina in Moriyama City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan.

With over 600 competitions in 18 countries worldwide, the SCA American Steak Contest sees trained competitors cook steaks with their unique recipes and compete based on the color, taste and texture of their steaks. This tournament marks the first cash prize competition in Japan, offering the winner the opportunity to participate in the World Championship of the SCA American Steak Contest held in Texas in March 2025.

Yanmar Group engages in business activities in the fields of food production and harnessing power. Additionally, it aims to realize a society filled with exciting and enriching experiences, supporting athletes in sports such as soccer, sailing, and golf. Judging criteria

Each player cooks a provided 1-pound ribeye steak within the specified time frame, seasoning it with their unique flavor. Certified judges score five criteria on a scale of 2 to 10 points each, with the total points determining the winner.
