South African Publishing Industry Survey 2022-23 Released

The Publishers' Association of South Africa (PASA) has recently unveiled the findings of the South African Book Publishing Industry Survey for 2022-23.

Conducted by the Department of Information Science at the University of Pretoria, the research sheds light on the current state and trends within the South African publishing sector.

The research team, comprising Elizabeth le Roux, Savannah Harvett, and Lezli Edgar, delved into various aspects of the publishing industry in South Africa, capturing valuable insights into its challenges and opportunities.

The survey captures data from a range of publishers in South Africa, both PASA and non-PASA members, from micro-enterprises to multinationals, focusing on turnover, production patterns, ownership, and employment.
