Streamer Story | Xiaoyi: Follow Your Heart to Take Firmer Steps

Tolerant family atmosphere has given her an independent personality, making Xiaoyi someone who will decisively give up on the things she doesn't like, but fight hard for the things she thinks worthy. The girl believes that destiny is always in our own hands, and only by following our heart can we take firmer steps forward.

For most people, life is a journey of trial and error -we sometimes take a wrong turn, and sometimes return to the right track - few people clearly know the direction of their life from the very start. Compared with knowing what you like, it may be more important to be clear about what you don't like.

Because of strong interest in design, Xiaoyi resolutely chose the interior design major when she was admitted to university, and successfully got a job in the trade after graduation. However, there is usually a gap between interest and reality: in actual work, in addition to doing home design, Xiaoyi also needed to deal with all kinds of business chores, like client engagement and project coordination - all these assignments made her exhausted day by day.

Little by little, the trivialities of the job consumed Xiaoyi's original longing for a career in the interior design business, as things didn't turn out positive for her. When a road doesn't seem to lead to the distance, it may be a wise choice to waste no more time on it. After leaving her home design agency, Xiaoyi chose the livestreaming industry she was fairly familiar with, and officially became a full-time streamer. Although she previously streamed as a part-time job, the girl still felt unprecedented pressure in the face of this complete change in direction, but fortunately, she found her passion again on this road.

The competition in the livestreaming industry was already becoming increasingly fierce, but since Xiaoyi made up her mind, she told herself to fight till the end. In order to become a successful streamer, she sacrificed a lot of her private time, and often learnt from others to improve her livestreaming skills. Even if she encountered a bottleneck, she would try hard to regain her best state.

Once, Xiaoyi streamed for more than 10 hours, but her showroom was always uncrowded. To cheer herself up, she spurred herself with other streamers' performance rankings, trying to find motivation from "involution". For her, livestreaming is more than a profession, but a way of proving her self-worth - only by competing with yourself can you keep improving.

Looking back on her journey since becoming a full-time streamer, Xiaoyi says she owes her success to a lot of people, such as her bestie who led her into the business, the agency leader who patiently guided her, and the loyal fans who always supported her… But in fact, the person Xiaoyi should thank most is her persistent, hard-working and willful self.
