Good afternoon. Let me start today's briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul will attend the opening ceremony of the 2024 Africa Culture Festival, which will take place at Gwanghwamun Plaza from May 10 to 12.

The upcoming Festival is aimed at raising Korean people's understanding of and interest in Africa ahead of the first Korea-Africa Summit set for this coming June.

The Embassies of 15 African countries will participate in the event, offering opportunities to citizens to experience various aspects of African culture including food, beverages and performances.

The Festival is anticipated to help promote the friendship and cultural exchanges between Korea and Africa.
