Top RV and Campground Destinations of 2021

Even after the huge increase in interest in RV travel and camping last year, Yelp data shows that consumer interest is still rising this summer, and the trend is here to stay. According to Yelp data, review mentions for RVs and vanlife in the first six months of 2021 were 34% higher than 2019 and 26% higher than in 2020. RV-ing has become more mainstream since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in spring 2020, and Yelp saw a 150% increase in consumer interest for RV rentals this April compared to last April.

To help kickstart your next outdoor adventure, we've created a list of the top RV destinations and campgrounds on Yelp. Whether it's a campsite overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, an RV park with glamping tents just a short drive from the California coastline, or a serene getaway just north of New York City, Yelp's got you covered when you start daydreaming of your next adventure on the open road.

Below, we've highlighted four of the top RV campgrounds and camping destinations throughout the country.

Mendocino Grove - Mendocino, CA

The campgrounds at Mendocino Grove are what Yelp users call 'stunning and modern'. This top destination for folks hitting the open road offers hiking trails on the property, and they provide guests with a list of local restaurants and activities to check out nearby. Each campsite has a fire pit, picnic table, and shared grills, and guests can even utilize the campfire valet service to help start a fire if needed. Located right by the water, it's perfectly positioned for those who want to enjoy the beach or canoeing, and is a short drive to hiking trails at Russian Gulch State Park.

One of the best campgrounds we've stayed at. Beautiful, big sites with bathrooms very close by. Lots of wildlife, including elk, deer and rabbits that just hang around. We ate our dinner with a group of elk nearby. It was truly incredible!'
