Trinity Health's Gay Landstrom, PhD, RN, FAAN, recognized as one of Modern Healthcare's Women Leaders

Trinity Health is proud to announce that Gay Landstrom, PhD, RN, FAAN, was recognized as one of Modern Healthcare's Women Leaders for 2024.

This prestigious program acknowledges and honors women executives from all sectors of the healthcare industry for their contributions to care delivery improvement, health equity, policy and gender equity in healthcare leadership. The profiles of all the honorees are featured in the March 11 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine and online.

"I have had the honor to work closely with Dr. Landstrom for nearly a decade and have witnessed her visionary approach to nursing set new precedents for the health care industry," wrote Daniel Roth, Trinity Health Executive Vice President, Chief Clinical and Community Division Operations Officer, in his endorsement letter. "Her dedication to serving the nursing workforce at Trinity Health has increased opportunities and workplace satisfaction, while her innovative approach to engaging and developing colleagues has significantly impacted care outcomes and patient satisfaction."

Landstrom is the chief nursing officer of Trinity Health nationwide. She has lead teams in the development of collaborative, impactful programs, such as:
  • Trinity Health's nursing care model, TogetherTeam Virtual Connected Careā„¢. Today, the program, operating across 10 states and 50 nursing units, is a groundbreaking model that addresses the ongoing nursing workforce crisis and increases patient and nurse engagement and satisfaction.
  • FirstChoice, an internal staffing agency providing flexible scheduling and travel opportunities for nurses and clinical staff. The program prevents colleague burnout and ensures continuity in care across Trinity Health's hospitals nationwide.
  • Colleague Care Resiliency Rounding initiative that offers real-time, one-on-one human connection to colleagues in high-demand areas.
