Officers Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect in East Boston

At about 4:14 PM, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, officers assigned to District A-7 (East Boston) arrested Lenin Esteban Rios Ramos, 36, of East Boston, on armed robbery and assault and battery charges.

Officers responded to the area of 293 Border Street for a report of an armed robbery. Officers were advised that the suspect brandished a knife, hit the victim with a rock, and began kicking the victim in the head. The suspect then robbed the victim of about $500.

Officers broadcasted a description of the suspect, and located an individual matching the description, congregating with a group behind the building. Officers detained the suspect, and conducted a pat frisk. Officers recovered a black folding knife, a medium size rock, and a screwdriver from the suspect.

Rios Ramos was placed under arrest and charged with armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon to wit shod foot, assault with a dangerous weapon to wit screwdriver, and assault with a dangerous weapon to wit rock. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
