Lieutenant Governor congratulates Edith Dumont on appointment as the 30th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario

Toronto, August 3, 2023. The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, congratulates Edith Dumont on her appointment as Ontario's 30th Lieutenant Governor.

The Lieutenant Governor will be speaking with Edith Dumont this afternoon to offer her warm congratulations.

Ms. Dowdeswell continues in office as Lieutenant Governor until the formal swearing-in of Ms. Dumont, who is now properly referred to as Lieutenant Governor-designate.

The date of Edith Dumont's installation ceremony will be announced in due course.
