Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Orange County - The Town of Blooming Grove Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Craigville Logistics Warehouse. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on April 16, 2024 at 7:01 p.m. at the Town of Blooming Grove Town Hall, 6 Horton Road, Blooming Grove, NY. The action involves a proposal by the applicant for the construction of a one-story warehouse distribution facility with a footprint of 562,450 ± square foot on a 201.8 acre site. The facility would allow up to four (4) individual tenants. Total parking includes 89 loading bays, parking that will provide 60 additional trailer parking spaces and 349 employee parking spaces, introduction of a driveway with access to Craigville Road (Orange County Route 51), and new on-site stormwater management facilities. The site would be served by an on-site water supply well and a septic system. The proposed project site for the warehouse is in the NNI (Non-Nuisance Industry) zoning district, as well as in the Scenic Gateways Overlay, Scenic Road Overlay, and the Surface Water Overlay districts. A significant complex of New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) and United State Army Corp of Engineers (US ACOE) regulated wetlands and the 100-year floodplain are located north, west and south of the warehouse complex. The Orange County Heritage Rail Trail is immediately north of the site. The project is located on County Road 51, on the west side of, and with frontage on County Road 51 (Craigville Road) and north NYS Route 17 and NYS Route 17M in the Town of Blooming Grove, New York.
