In celebration of Black History Month, the event will focus on the importance of diversity and inclusion within the national security arena. Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) will provide keynote remarks to kick off the conversation. Panelists include Rita Sampson, Chief of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence; Wydnee Parker, National Security Advisor for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi; Lodriguez Murry, Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs at the United Negro College Fund; and George MacArthur, Vice President and Portfolio Manager at ManTech.

'It is a mission imperative to have both diversity and inclusion within our national security arena,' said Charles Carithers, a Cornerstone principal who will serve as the panel moderator. 'When you do not have that rich diversity of culture and thought addressing some of our nation's most difficult national security and foreign policy challenges, you can create an atmosphere of monolithic group think. A lack of diversity and inclusion is a detriment to our nation's security.'

'The Intelligence Community workforce needs to represent the nation,' said Suzanne Wilson Heckenberg, president of INSF. 'Intelligence agencies and the companies that support them need to consider how they can more effectively promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce that draws on the talents of all Americans who want to contribute to national security.'
