Kuwait participates in the 48th Session of the IFAD Governing [...]

Under the leadership of Her Excellency the Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs, and Governor of the State of Kuwait to the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Ms. Nora Sulaiman Al-Fassam, and in the presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Italian Republic, Mr. Nasser Sanhat Al-Qahtani, the Acting Director-General and Alternate Governor of the State of Kuwait to IFAD, Mr. Waleed Shamlan Al-Bahar, and the Kuwait Fund Deputy Director of Operations for International Organizations and Bodies, Member of the Executive Council at IFAD, Mr. Khaled Faisal Al-Khaled, are participating in the 48th session of the IFAD Governors Council, held in the Italian capital, Rome, during the period 12-13 February.

H.E. the Minister delivered the State of Kuwait's speech during the opening session of the meeting, in which she emphasized the importance of the pivotal role played by the International Fund in combating poverty and food insecurity around the world, and the State of Kuwait's pride in the strong relationship that binds the two sides.

On the sidelines of the meeting, a number of bilateral meetings were also held with His Majesty the King of the Kingdom of Lesotho, the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, and a number of ministers and the Fund's executive management to discuss ways to activate areas of cooperation and joint action, especially in the field of financing joint development projects and exploring investment opportunities between the two sides.
