Call for action: Offshore worker mental health survey

News announcement - Published 11 June, 2021

In a concerted effort to understand the main issues impacting Offshore Oil & Gas workers and their well-being, support and contribute to research into mental health in the offshore workforce, and contribute to the development and circulation of information and guidance for industry on effective psychosocial risk management, a tripartite Mental Health Working Group (MHWG) was developed between NOPSEMA, APPEA and the Principal Offshore Unions.

The MHWG has partnered with Curtin University and the University of Western Australia to develop this survey, using evidence-based, research-backed measures which allow the researchers greater insight into the psychosocial impacts of COVID-19 from the information you provide. Your unique insight on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on members of the offshore workforce are vital to informing industry and the development of strategies that best support employee mental health and well-being.

This survey is the result of a collaboration between NOPSEMA, APPEA and the Offshore Alliance and with your support it can inform meaningful outcomes for offshore workers. We encourage you to take part.

Curtin University Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) has approved this study (HREC number HRE2018-0449). If you have questions about this study, please contact HREC at [email protected], or the researchers with the details below.
