TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that it held a five-day liaison meeting for shipowners and ship management companies on September 13 and from September 17-20. During the plenary session on the first day, the participants discussed compliance with, responses to, and progress of the latest environmental regulations. During the following four days, they met in subcommittees to exchange information on accidents by ship type, accident prevention measures, and each division's measures to develop innovative operational management methods and to deepen mutual understanding of safe ship operation and environmental measures.
The plenary session was held in a hybrid format, combining face-to-face meetings with an online webcast, as was the case last year, with over 250 participants from 76 companies (89 people from 52 companies took part in the in-person meeting).
Through these activities, MOL will continue its initiatives to achieve the world's highest level of safety and quality and to expand its business in a sustainable manner.
