Long-haul service to Geneva further strengthened for winter 2022-23
As of the start of the IATA winter 2022-23 season on 30 October, Geneva Airport is offering some new routes. These should satisfy travellers looking for original escapades, as well as those who need to join their loved ones or travel on business. In total, some 47 airlines will connect Geneva to over 100 destinations this winter.
Ethiopian Airlines is reinforcing its presence in Geneva by offering a fourth weekly direct flight to Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), with all of their African network connected, while allowing a continuation from Geneva to Manchester with a latest generation wide-body aircraft (B787).
This is part of the consolidation of the long-haul network, which has almost returned to its pre-pandemic level: Montreal (Air Canada), New York JFK (SWISS), New York Newark (United Airlines), Washington (United Airlines) and several destinations in the Persian Gulf (notably Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways).
Delta, a member of the Skyteam alliance, has already confirmed its arrival in Geneva from April 10, 2023, with a flight to New York JFK offering excellent connections throughout the USA.
easyJet is expanding its programme from Geneva with a new twice-weekly route to Venice, providing an opportunity to rediscover this prestigious city.
As the main operator in Geneva, easyJet is also launching a new route to Enfidha-Hammamet (Tunisia) for the winter, while improving frequencies to Berlin and Newcastle (UK). In addition, easyJet continues to use A320neo aircraft in its Swiss-based fleet.
SWISS is opening and/or relaunching services to Brussels, Copenhagen, Tenerife (Canary Islands), Funchal (Madeira) and Kittila (Finnish Lapland).
There are also occasional flights to Reykjavik (Iceland) with Fly Play and Riga (Latvia) with Air Baltic during the winter season.
