Women's Basketball announces 2022-23 non-conference schedule

Orono, Maine - The University of Maine women's basketball program has announced its non-conference opponents and dates for the 2022 season. Maine will officially begin its campaign on Nov. 7 and feature a 13 game non-conference slate including five home contests.

"This year's non-conference schedule is once again extremely challenging," head coach says. "Among our opponents are six teams who qualified for postseason play in 2021-2022. Playing tough teams in the non-conference will undoubtedly prepare us for our America East schedule in 2023. I am excited to see how our team responds to the challenges that we will see this November and December."

Maine opens the 2022-23 season with a two-game road stretch with contests at James Madison (Nov. 7) and UMass (Nov. 14).

The Black Bears open the home portion of their schedule on Nov. 19 when they welcome Yale to Memorial Gymnasium before hosting Northeastern on Nov. 21.

Maine heads across the country for a three-game set where they will take on Kansas on Nov. 25 and Niagara on Nov. 26. Both contests will be played at Saint Mary's in Moraga, Calif. Maine will remain on the west coast when it travels to take on Gonzaga in Spokane, Wash. on Nov. 28.

The Black Bears return to Memorial Gymnasium for another Ivy League match-up when they host Princeton on Dec. 2. Maine travels to Rhode Island on Dec. 4 before welcoming Fordham to Orono on Dec. 8 and Army on Dec. 11.

Maine finishes its non-conference slate with a pair of road games at Harvard on Dec. 18 and at Milwaukee on Dec. 22.

The America East portion of the schedule will be released at a later date. Ticket information will be announced soon.
