Designs presented May 9 for street murals

Come learn about the designs for two asphalt art murals developed collaboratively with Minneapolis students. The artists will unveil the designs and talk about their process and the project. Two murals will be installed on the street surface of 21st Avenue at the intersections with 31st and 35th streets south.

Artists Constanza Caraballo and Marco Aguero are collaborating with teachers and students from South High School and Folwell Community School. Together the artists make colorful murals that share community values and stories. Caraballo participated in a project while attending South High School that showed her she could have a creative career. She's excited to return to South to do the same for the next generation of students.

Work with students began in April, and the murals will be painted by the end of the school year. If you're interested in volunteering to help paint these intersections, please reach out to Talia Moorman.
