Continuing Precision Policing Efforts Lead to Recovery of Three Carjacked Vehicles and Three Arrests September 27, 2021

A continuing concerted precision policing effort by detectives assigned to a special robbery initiative led to Sunday's recovery of three carjacked vehicles and three arrests.

Last night detectives spotted a gray 2011 Jaguar XF sedan on Murfreesboro Pike that had been carjacked Saturday at 6:15 p.m. Detectives activated their emergency equipment. The 15-year-old driver stopped at a red light on Bell Road at Mt. View Road where he attempted to flee on foot. He was quickly apprehended. A loaded pistol was recovered from the stolen Jaguar. The teen is charged in Juvenile Court with gun possession during the commission of a felony, vehicle theft, juvenile handgun possession, and driving without a license. The victim of the carjacking had been sitting in the Jaguar in the parking lot of his Hickory Hollow Terrace apartment building when he was approached by two young black men, both armed. They pulled him from the car and fled separately in the Jaguar and a black Dodge Charger.

In a related case, detectives located a gray 2018 Infiniti Q50 which had been taken during a carjacking Saturday at 11:15 p.m. The victim was getting out of the Infiniti outside a Pin Hook Road residence when he was approached by two young black men, both armed. They drove off in the Infiniti and a black Dodge Charger. On Sunday, detectives spotted the stolen Infiniti on Antioch Pike and Reeves Road. The suspects fled on foot and were not located.

In a separate case, investigation by detectives led to the recovery of a stolen Chevrolet Impala at a Central Pike motel. The car had been taken during a robbery in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Both suspects, Radell Watkins, 30, and Cecilia Calvo, 38, of Nashville, were taken into custody. At present, Watkins is charged with vehicle theft and Calvo with joyriding.
