Resurfacing Scheduled to Begin on Route C in Macon and Randolph Counties

HANNIBAL - Weather permitting, as early as May 15, a resurfacing project is scheduled to begin on Route C between U.S. Route 36 in Macon County to Route JJ at Huntsville in Randolph County. This length of the improvement is 23.7 miles with anticipated completion by late July.

Motorists can expect delays as traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction in place where crews are actively working.

Flaggers and a pilot car will be used to direct traffic through the work zone. For the safety of the crews and the traveling public, we would like to remind drivers to be attentive in work zones and put down your cell phones to eliminate distractions. All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

The $8.8M contract, awarded to Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. last year, also includes the following pavement improvement projects listed below:

  • Missouri Route 3 - Resurfacing from Missouri Route 11 in Adair County to U.S. Route 24 at Clifton Hill in Randolph County (52 miles) (In Progress)
  • Missouri Route 3 - Seal coat from U.S. Route 24 east junction to Missouri Route 129 at Roanoke in Randolph County (8.5 miles) (Tentatively scheduled for mid-August)

Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur.

For more information on this and other projects in your area, please contact MoDOT's Customer Center toll-free at 1-888-ASK MODOT (275-6636). Work with us in the work zone! Please remember to obey all work zone signs and personnel. With an increased number of highway work zones in Missouri, we urge all drivers to pay attention every second while driving, especially through a work zone.
