Robbery Victim Flees to the Oroville Police Station for Assistance

ROBBERY VICTIM FLEES TO THE OROVILLE POLICE STATION FOR ASSISTANCE

Oroville, CA- On Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, at approximately 7:45 PM, Oroville Police Officers were alerted of a robbery after the victim fled to the police department to notify authorities.

Last night, while briefing before beginning graveyard shift patrol, officers could hear knocking and screaming for help at the doors of the Oroville Police Department at 2055 Lincoln Street, Oroville, CA. Officers immediately contacted the individual, who notified them that unauthorized male subjects were in his home. The victim stated that two suspects forced entry into the house, assaulted the victim, and began riffling through the residents' possessions.

The victim said he was able to escape the home and ran approximately two blocks to the police department for help. Simultaneously, the Oroville Police Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a male heard screaming for help in an unknown area near the residence. Officers immediately responded to the residence in the 2100 block of Wilcox Ave and located signs of forced entry. However, the suspects were gone upon arrival.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment. The Oroville Police Department has identified the suspects. To preserve the investigation's integrity, no other information will be provided. There is no threat to the general population related to this incident; the suspects were known by the victim.
