PT Timah Tbk Provides Food Packages for Flood Affected Residents in Sukamandi Village, East Belitung Regency

EAST BELITUNG - PT Timah Tbk distributed basic food packages for flood-affected communities in Sukamandi Village, District, Damar, East Belitung Regency, Monday (26/9/2022).

These basic food packages were distributed to 10 houses affected by floods in the area. One of the flood points in Sukamandi Village, Damar District was quite severe and submerged several houses around it.

The food package assistance is expected to ease the burden on the people affected by the flood.

One of the beneficiaries, Sumini, a child from Nurhaya, appreciates and is grateful for the assistance from PT Timah Tbk, because the basic material assistance is very much needed by the people who were hit by the floods a few days ago.

"Alhamdulillah, it's good that PT Timah Tbk is helping, because we really need this," said Sumini, Monday (26/09/2022)

According to Sumini, her mother's house was flooded for two days, last Saturday and Sunday, even today the house is still in disarray. So the help of this basic material is very much needed.

In addition, she hopes that there will be no more flooding like that.

Likewise, another resident, Yunus, also thanked PT Timah Tbk, for caring for him who was being affected by the aftermath of the flood.

"Alhamdulillah, I accept this assistance from PT Timah Tbk," Yunus said with a smile when he received the aid.

Yunus said that the assistance was very useful for their daily needs in the future. She also hoped that such floods would not happen again.

Meanwhile, the Head of Sukamandi Hamlet (kadus), Suryani, appreciated PT Timah Tbk's assistance for the people in the village.

"Residents are grateful, because the assistance is beneficial for those affected," said Suryani.

Acting Head of Sukamandi Village, Mardiansyah also appreciated PT Timah Tbk's assistance to residents affected by flooding in Sukamandi hamlet, Sukamandi village.

Previously, they had carried out emergency response actions to help the community. However, there is no such basic material assistance, of course, the assistance from PT Timah Tbk is very helpful.
