Readout on meeting between King Oyo of Tooro and Mayor Johnson

DALLAS - His Majesty King Oyo of the Tooro Kingdom in Uganda - along with his mother, Her Royal Highness Best Kemigisa, Mother to the King, and his sister, Her Royal Highness Princess Ruth Nsemere Komuntale - for a meeting with Mayor Eric Johnson.

Mayor Johnson greeted King Oyo and the Tooro Kingdom delegation in the City Hall Flag Room and presented King Oyo with a Key to the City, which is given to distinguished guests of Dallas as a symbol of trust, respect, and friendship. The Key was also provided in recognition of King Oyo's work promoting culture and innovation and addressing issues such as climate change, the HIV/AIDS epidemic, unemployment, poverty, and food security.

King Oyo provided the mayor with hand-made gifts with deep symbolism for the people of Uganda and the Kingdom of Tooro. Mayor Johnson also provided gifts to the king and queen, including a book of Dallas landmarks.
