U.S. Chamber Letter on Security Supplemental Appropriations Bills

To the Members of the United States Senate:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce urges you to pass the security supplemental appropriations legislation currently being considered by the Senate and recently passed on a bipartisan basis in the House. This legislation would provide crucial funding and urgently needed military assistance for Israel, Ukraine, and the Indo-Pacific and support a more robust domestic defense industrial base.

The Chamber believes the Senate must act to address threats to U.S. national security and the security of critical partners with democratic governments and free markets, especially those suffering from unprovoked military attack or violent, hostile assault. Perhaps the most painful lesson of the 20th century is that what happens in Europe and Asia affects America directly, and we ignore it at our peril.

To that end, the Chamber strongly supports provisions of the legislation that would bolster the U.S. defense industrial base and fund the domestic production of munitions and critical systems.

We are pleased that Republicans and Democrats continue to work together in good faith to ensure that America can provide needed aid. We stand ready to support your important work in this area and encourage you to pass this legislation expeditiously.

Sincerely,

Neil L. Bradley
