Burgess, Allred, Crow, and Dunn introduce Veterans Health Care Stamp Act

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Congressman Colin Allred (D-TX), Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO), and Congressman Neal Dunn (R-FL) re-introduced the Veterans Health Care Stamp Act of 2021. This legislation will direct the United States Postal Service to issue and sell a stamp to provide funding for the medical care and treatment of veterans through the Department of Veterans Affairs.

'The Veterans Health Care Stamp Act will provide the American public with an individual opportunity to directly support the brave men and women who have served their country honorably through military service,' said Congressman Burgess. 'Americans are a patriotic people and when given the opportunity, will support the health of our nation's veterans. I appreciate my fellow Members Neal Dunn, Colin Allred, and Jason Crow for joining me in this effort.'

'By creating an official stamp with the U.S. Postal service, this bipartisan bill will honor our veterans and help ensure the VA has the resources it needs to provide the highest quality care and the services that our veterans are owed,' said Congressman Allred. 'As a member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, I will keep working to ensure we live up to the promises we've made to the folks who have bravely served our nation.'

'When I came back from war and served as a veteran advocate in Colorado, I saw how many men and women were let down by the country they served,' said Congressman Crow. 'We owe our veterans a debt of gratitude that we can never fully repay. The Veterans Health Care Stamp Act is a commonsense way that all Americans can give back to those that served by helping to increase veterans' access to quality health care.'

'Our veterans have heroically put their lives on the line to protect this country which warrants proper recognition,' said Congressman Dunn. 'A U.S. stamp honoring our veterans will not only thank them for their service, but it will also generate revenue for programs and services through the VA that would help better veteran health care. This is a great way to ensure that our brave men and women receive high-quality VA care. I am proud to support this bill and our nation's veterans.'
