U.S. Chamber Hosts Tanzanian President H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan, Launches Tanzania Investment Guide

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's U.S.-Africa Business Center (USAfBC) hosted a presidential roundtable and dialogue with H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the Republic of Tanzania, on December 13, 2022, to formally launch the new Tanzania Investment Guide. The guide, a collaboration between the U.S. Chamber and the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade), charts a path for individuals and companies interested in tapping into Tanzania's investment potential, creating economic opportunity, jobs, and shared prosperity.

This week's roundtable marks President Hassan's second in-person engagement with the U.S. Chamber this year, following her visit to the Chamber in April where she met with business leaders and witnessed the signing of a U.S. Chamber Memorandum of Understanding to expand trade and investment between the U.S. and Tanzania.

"I'm excited about the Chamber's growing partnership with Tanzania, and our dialogue with President Hassan during Summit week was a valuable opportunity for the private sector to discuss views on the President's economic reform agenda," said the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's executive vice president and head of International Affairs Division Myron Brilliant. "It's clear that the President has ambition to increase investment and we want to help Tanzania achieve that. We were really pleased to hear President Hassan emphasize the critical role of the private sector and we look forward to supporting her as she creates a private sector advisory council. The Chamber is committed to doubling down on our work to showcase new investment opportunities in Tanzania through our new investment guide and a delegation early next year."
