At Dentons, inclusion and diversity is not just a value - it is an integral part of our business strategy and critical to better serving our clients. Our clients - around the Firm - are demanding that we deliver teams of professionals that are both inclusive and diverse; they are simply not accepting anything less. And we are encouraged to see our Firm driving this agenda forward which is allowing us to bring together a diversity of perspectives and thought to client work around the Firm.
Today we are delighted to celebrate our annual Dentons Global Pride Day, which coincides with International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT).
This year's theme for Global Pride Day is Making A Difference which brings together two important aspects of our Firm. It reflects our continued commitment to creating a respectful, understanding workplace environment where LGBT+ colleagues can bring their full selves to work, and feel valued and respected. It also reflects the foundation of our Firm which is being polycentric; being 'in and of the community'.
True to Making a Difference, we celebrate how our LGBT+ colleagues and Allies (non-LGBT+ colleagues) globally are contributing to and supporting their local LGBT+ communities via a wide variety of pro bono and volunteer initiatives including landmark challenges, advice, support and community outreach.
We are very proud that in the last year, Dentons was named a Stonewall Global LGBT Employer (one of only 17 organizations worldwide) and that Global TMT Co-Chair, Igor Ostrowski, was named Stonewall Global Senior Champion of the Year for his work in defending LGBT+ rights in Poland.
We encourage you to watch this short video which highlights some of the initiatives our colleagues are leading from around the world:
Supportive and inclusive workplaces are better for everyone. We are proud of our approach to addressing LGBT+ discrimination and know we have more to do. For more information, please visit the Dentons LGBT+page.
