The Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 21 March, to discuss Sustainable Development Goals with stakeholders.
The meeting at 12.30pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will be split into two sessions:
Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Brian Leddin said: "The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 with the aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. Last October, the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications published the National Implementation Plan for Sustainable Development Goals 2022-2024, followed by a public consultation process. The plan set out five strategic objectives and 51 actions to achieve Ireland's Sustainable Development Goals. The Committee looks forward to discussing the SDGs, the implantation plan and related matters with the Department officials and our stakeholders."
The Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
