Cold Lake, AB - A wildland fire in Tri City on the weekend had many residents concerned.

"It's a dry start to the summer, so a lot of fires are popping up right now," said Mayor Craig Copeland.

The fire started late in the evening on April 27, and was estimated at approximately 15 metres by 30 metres in size. Cold Lake Fire-Rescue responded and got the fire quickly under control. A second, smaller fire was also found and extinguished along a trail between two homes in the same neighbourhood.
