Ishkhan Saghatelyan Not Elected Again

On August 5, the Parliament referred to the election of the NA Opposition Vice President again. It should be noted that regarding the item again was conditioned by the fact that as a result of voting by secret ballot held on the same day, the candidate did not receive the necessary number of votes in favor.

The Head of the Armenia Faction Seyran Ohanyan has informed that they nominate the member of the faction Ishkhan Saghatelyan as a candidate again.

The NA factions expressed their views.

Toching upon the inner-political life, the Secretary of I Have Honor Faction Hayk Mamijanyan gave a speech.

The Secretary of the Armenia Faction Artsvik Minasyan reaffirmed the position of the faction. According to it, the faction will vote for Ishkhan Saghatelyan's candidacy.

As the Head of the Civil Contract Faction Hayk Konjoryan clarified, their faction participated in the previous voting in order to ensure the election of a joint candidate of the opposition, but due to the incomplete participation of the opposition colleagues, the voting failed. Konjoryan has reaffirmed that the Civil Contract Faction is ready to provide the necessary number of votes this time as well, in order to elect the opposition candidate for the NA Vice President.

After the election, the Chairman of the NA Counting Commission Narek Babayan informed that the voting by secret ballot was held. 103 deputies out of 107 took part in the voting, 5 voting papers were recognized invalid. 49 deputies voted for Saghatelyan's candidacy, and 49 - against.

So, Ishkhan Saghatelyan was not elected NA Vice President.
