Homicide Investigation – Wesleyan Drive

​VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - On November 23, 2022, at 7:23 P.M., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to a ShotSpotter Alert in the 5300 block of Wesleyan Drive. A call was received through ECCS for an individual suffering from a gunshot wound at the same location. Upon arrival, officers found Steven Watkins (M/52) of Virginia Beach, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers performed lifesaving efforts until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
