Petrofac has received a second safety case acceptance from the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA), to decommission the Northern Endeavour, two months ahead of schedule.
The second safety case permits Petrofac to commence disconnection and decommissioning of the Northern Endeavour Floating Production, Storage and Offtake (FPSO) vessel, which has been maintained in non-production 'lighthouse' mode.
Our Australia team, based in Perth, took over operational control of the Northern Endeavour FPSO on behalf of the Australian Government's Federal Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) in 2022. Petrofac is contracted to complete phase one of decommissioning and is responsible for the safety and day-to-day operation of the FPSO, as well as preparing it for disconnection.
