HAVE YOUR SAY THROUGH COUNCIL'S BIENNIAL SURVEYS

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) is currently running its biennial Community Insights Survey calling on residents to voice their opinions and assist with the development of plans for the future of our region.

The biennial survey aims to measure the satisfaction levels with Council's performance, gauge the importance of different services and identify areas for improvement.

The Community Insights survey will be conducted via phone calls by independent research company Micromex.

The process started on 18 March 2024, with researchers requiring a minimum of 500 people participate in the survey which will be conducted via a phone mix of mobile and landline. Phone numbers will be chosen at random, and while no personal information will be asked for, the company will request an email address at the end of the call for residents who wish to remain updated. If you see 02 8358 2995 calling, remember to answer the phone for your opportunity to participate.

Micromex will use publicly available contact information purchased through a commercial third party, ensuring privacy of the participants.

"The biennial survey is an effective way of measuring Council's overall performance and the perception of Council in the community's eyes. I encourage people who are contacted by these researchers to have their say and provide feedback on Council and the services your Council provides," Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Mathew Dickerson said.

"The timing of this survey ahead of our consultation process for the 2024/2025 Budget provides the perfect opportunity for our community to put forward their needs and what they want to see from their Council into the future," Clr Dickerson said.

In conjunction with the Community Insights Survey, the Community Input online survey will be held for residents as an opt-in option if their number isn't selected for a phone call.

The Input Survey provides all residents the opportunity to let Council know what they think; assisting Council and management to understand the community's views on a range of topics.

"As we work towards financial stability for our future, this survey is a great way of collecting invaluable community feedback," Dubbo Regional Council CEO Murray Wood said.

"It is a powerful and personal way of checking the pulse of the community in regard to Council's services and assisting to review our services, facilities and deliverables," Mr Wood said.

Information gathered from both surveys will be reported back to Council.

The Community Input online survey is available on the YourSay platform until 9am on 29 April.
