IEA Hydro is a working group, which was formed to promote the common interests of hydroelectric power generation worldwide. It is a platform for the International Energy Agency (IEA) to carry out cooperative R&D, demonstration, deployment, and sharing of global hydroelectric energy systems. Since joining the IEA Hydro in 2015, CYPC has undertaken two research tasks, namely, Project 14 Management Model for Cascade Reservoirs and Project 18 Decision Support for Comprehensive Utilization of Basin Water Resources. The Project 14 was successfully completed in 2021.<_o3a_p>

Project 18 Decision Support for Comprehensive Utilization of Basin Water Resources mainly focuses on key and difficult issues in efficient utilization of basin water resources. By integrating advanced theories and technologies at home and abroad such as data mining, hydrodynamics, hydrological model, ecological model, and optimized scheduling model, a decision support system for the comprehensive utilization of water resources based on the combination of data mining and scheduling mode control is constructed to optimize the workflow of water resources scheduling management, achieve efficient and unified management of cascade power stations and improve the efficient utilization of water resources.<_o3a_p>

For many years, CYPC has actively participated in international exchanges and project research and cooperation. While learning and absorbing advanced international scientific research achievements and experience in the operation and management of cascade reservoirs, it has also shared advanced experience and practices in the management of major hydropower of CYPC to continuously enhance its international influence and make contributions to promoting the international development of CTG.<_o3a_p>
