Crews Restore Service to 11,180 Customers Affected by Heavy Winds Accompanying Arctic Front

Approximately 11,180 customers have been affected by the heavy wind gusts that have swept through our region in the past 24-hours as temperatures plummet below zero. O&R crews worked through the day and overnight to restore electric service to 11,180 customers.

Repairs will continue today to bring power back to the 530 customers who remain without service in the following communities:

NEW YORK

Rockland: 282

Orange: 11

Sullivan: 30

NEW JERSEY

Bergen: 99

Sussex: 7

O&R also continues to closely monitor its gas system. At this time, there has been no interruption to gas service.

Important Safety Message

For safety's sake, O&R warns the public not to touch or approach any downed wire. Assume it is energized and dangerous. Call O&R immediately toll-free 1-877-434-4100. Depending on the situation, you may also want to call your local police to divert traffic until an O&R crew arrives.
