Prague Stock Exchange rebounds, PX index up by 0.46 pct

Prague, May 22 (CTK) - The Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) erased Tuesday's slight losses and the PX index gained 0.46 percent to close at 1,574.12 points, according to data on the BCPP's website.

Earlier this week, the index regained its strongest level since June 2008 and today's close saw the stock exchange further improve its nearly 16-year high.

The market was pulled up by shares of Czech banks Komercni banka and Moneta Money Bank and energy company CEZ, while Austria's Erste posted losses.

Moneta improved by 1.87 percent to Kc98.30, Komercni banka reported a 0.51 percent increase to Kc783 and CEZ shares appreciated by 0.27 percent to Kc930.

Austrian insurer VIG closed 0.65 percent stronger at Kc779 per share.

Beverage maker Kofola was 1.06 percent higher at Kc287 apiece.

Erste decreased by 0.17 percent to Kc1,167.

Metallurgical firm Gevorkyan also ended weaker than Tuesday evening, writing off 1.56 percent to Kc252 per unit.

Solar power plant builder Photon Energy and drone maker Primoco UAV also closed in the red.

Shares of arms maker Colt, which will release its first-quarter results on Thursday, ended the day unchanged at Kc679 per share.
