JO-JP 2024 - Declaration of goods imported for the Olympic and Paralympic (...)

For the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, French customs (Directorate-General of Customs and Indirect Taxes) has created a form for travelers from third countries, accredited by the Paris 2024 Olympic organizing committee.

This form allows them to declare their goods digitally and ahead of time, under temporary admission and/or customs duty and VAT relief for the definitive importation of the following items

Pharmaceutical products used during international sporting events
Decorations, honorarily awards, and goodies
Goods used or consumed during the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Who can use the simplified procedure on the website "Démarchés simplifiées"?

Individuals accredited by the Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games

As an accredited individual, you are not required to submit a "Démarches Simplifiées" file to declare:

Your personal effects (clothing, toiletry, personal electronic devices, etc.);
Some goods intended to be consumed in France (food, drinks);
Alcohol/tobacco exemptions;
Your sporting equipment, save for exceptions (see below).

Goods/merchandise concerned

With the "Démarches simplifiées" form, accessible from February 1, 2024, easily declare your goods/merchandise:

Subject to specific regulations:

Professional audiovisual equipment (journalists), medical equipment (doctors), etc.
Equipment intended for the organization of the event or competition (shooting sports weapons, pharmaceutical products, trophies, medals, goodies, etc.)
Pets

Whether they fall under either of the two following customs regimes:

Temporary admission: Goods/merchandise intended to leave the territory in the same state;
Duty-free admission: Goods/merchandise intended to stay in the territory.

In addition to anticipating formalities, the developed forms offer the advantage of a complete and unified procedure based on a logic of responding to close-ended questions, based on which the production of specific documents will or will not be required.
