State Secretary Štucin holds talks with Dutch Deputy Foreign Minister van den Ende

During a visit to the Hague, State Secretary Marko Štucin met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Director-General for European Cooperation Anita van den Ende. They discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations and current European topics, including the situation in Ukraine, the energy crisis, the rule of law, EU enlargement to the Western Balkans, migration and Schengen.

State Secretary Štucin and Minister van den Ende expressed support for Ukraine, stressing the importance of continuous efforts to achieve peace. They agreed on the significance of the rule of law and progression of the dialogue between the EU member states, and discussed EU enlargement to the Western Balkans. State Secretary Štucin called for a credible advancement of EU enlargement and granting Bosnia and Herzegovina candidate status by the end of 2022. He also underlined the importance of a fully functioning Schengen and the removal of border controls at the internal borders.
