BEIJING, April 11-- The China Coast Guard (CCG) has initially established a three-dimensional supervision system for maritime law enforcement in recent years, featuring coastal, maritime and aerial patrols. Illegal activities including maritime smuggling, illegal immigration, drug trafficking, illegal sea sand mining, and illegal fishing have been effectively addressed.

The CCG dispatched personnel and vehicles to conduct patrols on key wharves, ports, coastlines and islands; sent ships to patrol important sea routes and sea areas; and deployed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), helicopters, and other aerial assets to conduct air patrols, thus forming an effective three-dimensional supervision system for maritime law enforcement.

With the widespread application of the new supervision system, the maritime law enforcement capability of the CCG has been significantly enhanced. In 2022, the CCG handled 15,227 cases, seized 1.12 tons of drugs and 1.2 tons of drug-making materials, dismantled three major drug-making and trafficking gangs, and confiscated 471 cases of smuggling, with a total value of approximately RMB 2.18 billion (about USD 316.7 million).
