WASHINGTON - Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the Tipton County School District will receive $936,722 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Program for 14 video conferencing units, software and training. Instructors will deliver expanded educational opportunities to an estimated 10,638 Tipton County residents, according to the USDA.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
"I am pleased to see this substantial investment in the student of rural Tipton County. Modern education often requires access to the high technologies absent in many rural areas. This will improve education in Tipton County and enhance the learning of its students."
Congressman Cohen represents much of Tipton County after a 2022 redistricting by the state legislature.
