Thorgan Hazard is moving to Belgian record champions RSC Anderlecht with immediate effect. The 30-year-old has signed a long-term contract with the team currently in second place in the Jupiler Pro League.
Hazard moved to BVB from Borussia Mönchengladbach in July 2019 and made a total of 123 competitive appearances for the Black & Yellows. The Belgium international scored 18 goals and notched a further 21 assists. Hazard helped BVB to the DFB-Pokal trophy in 2021. The right-footed player spent the second half of last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven.
"We've held very open and honest talks with Thorgan in recent weeks. At short notice, he has now been offered the opportunity to move. It was clear to us that we would then not stand in his way. We would like to thank Thorgan for his four years with Borussia Dortmund, and wish him and his family nothing but the best for the future," said Borussia Dortmund's sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
