Pursuant to AS 46.15.133 and 11 AAC 93.080, notice is hereby given that Glacier Creek Development LLC, 9301 Glacier Hwy, Suite 200, Juneau, Alaska 99801 applied for a water right on August 2, 2023 (Priority Date). The application proposes the following:

To withdraw up to 10,000 gallons per day year round for use in a new ship terminal building and 10,000 gallons per day from April 1-October 31 for a new cruise ship berth in Whittier.

Water source is an 80 foot deep well within the property described below.

The proposed place of use is the new Head of Bay Cruise Ship Terminal in Whittier, encompassed in a leased parcel of land within a portion of Lot 1, USS 9008, as described in US Patent No. 50-2005-0045 to the Alaska Railroad Corporation, officially filed October 12, 1995, Alaska Railroad Whittier Terminal Reserve, Anchorage Recording District, Third Judicial District, State of Alaska, comprising 877,705 sq. ft., more or less. The land lies within the E1/2 of Section 15, Township 8 North, Range 4 East, Seward Meridian.

Per AS 46.15.133 (a), within 15 days of publication or service of notice, persons may file with the director written objections. Comments or objections must be made in writing by email to [email protected] or by mail to Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Water Resources Section, 550 W 7th Ave, Suite 1020, Anchorage, AK 99501-3562 by 5:00 p.m. June 7th, 2024. Pursuant to 11 AAC 93.080 (6), "The public comment period set by AS 46.15.133 (c) begins the first day the newspaper publication appears, or the first day of posting, or upon receipt of the notice as evidenced by the certified mail receipt, date stamp, or other evidence of actual service."

Objection must include the objector's name and address, and any facts tending to show that the rights of the objector or the public interest would be adversely affected by the proposed appropriation.
