PennDOT's Washington County Maintenance Update

Uniontown, PA - Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard announced the following tentative work plan for the week of May 20, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Debris removal:

  • Route 40 (Main Street) in West Pike Run Township and Centerville and West Brownsville boroughs.
  • Interstate 70 in Fallowfield and Somerset townships and Speers and Twilight boroughs.

Delineation installation:

  • Route 136 (Dry Run Road) in the City of Monongahela.
  • Route 1020 (Taylor Run Road) in Carroll Township.
  • Route 2041 (Maiden Street and Beallsville Road) in Beallsville and Ellsworth boroughs.

Ditch line / inlet cleaning:

  • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township.
  • Route 2023 (Grange Road) in Carroll and Fallowfield townships.
  • Route 2030 (Washington Street) in West Pike Run Township and Bentleyville and California boroughs.

Mowing:

  • Route 22 Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township.
  • Interstate 70 Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) in the City of Washington.
  • Route 221 (Chestnut Street Extension) in Buffalo Township.
  • Route 519 Park and Ride Ramp 9501 in North Strabane Township.
  • Route 837 Ramp 8025 in Donora Borough.

Paving:

  • Route 18 (Prosperity Pike) in Morris, North Franklin, and South Franklin townships and the City of Washington.
  • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township.
  • Route 3029 (Burnsville Ridge Road) in West Finley Township.

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 18 (Prosperity Pike) in Morris, North Franklin, and South Franklin townships and the City of Washington.
  • Route 2004 (Vankirk Ridge Road) in Amwell Township.
  • Route 2020 (Plumsock Road) in Amwell, Morris, and West Bethlehem townships.
  • Route 3020 (Pikes Peak Road) in Amwell and Morris townships.

Shoulder stabilization:

  • Route 4057 (Reed Road) in Blaine and Hopewell townships.

Side dozing:

  • Route 3011 (Mounts Road) in Buffalo Township.

Slide repair:

  • Route 1016 (Little Mingo Creek Road) in Nottingham Township.
  • Route 2013 (Little Daniels Run Road) in North Bethlehem Township.

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
