Nampa Public Library invites community to 5th annual Destination Wellness Health Fair, April 13

The Nampa Public Library is pleased to announce the 5th annual Destination Wellness Health Fair on Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Destination Wellness 2024 offers a wealth of FREE health and wellness information and activities for the whole family. Get connected with valuable services from a variety of community organizations.

There will be exciting activities for all ages! We will be giving away bike accessories, prizes, and other swag. Learn more about bike safety, Medicare, Alzheimer's care, healthy foods, free medical care, and much more.

Additionally, for the safety of loved ones living with Dementia and Alzheimer's, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, in partnership with the VA, have provided free trigger locks for distribution during the fair.

Registered participants of the following special workshops (excluding bike repairs) will receive a reusable water cup with lid and straw. Registration is recommended, but not required, at nampalibrary.org/wellness.

Library Plaza:

  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Fix-a-Flat & Minor Bike Repair

    • Get your bike ready to ride! Volunteers with the Nampa Bicycle Project are offering free minor bike repairs. Get your flats fixed and sealed and your bike checked for safety.

Multipurpose Room:

  • 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. - Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body: Tips from the Latest Research

    • Presented by the Alzheimer's Association, this workshop will delve into the significance of self-care, provide you with useful strategies for navigating the aging journey, and guide you in creating a plan for a healthy aging process.

  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. - Break the Cycle with the Women's and Children's Alliance (WCA)

    • Learn about the characteristics of domestic abuse, sexual assault, the impact of domestic violence in the workplace and healthy relationships. This program is geared for an adult audience. Youth attendance with discretion of their caregivers.

  • 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. - Ladybug Love & DIY Natural Weed Killer

    • Presented by Natural Grocers, participants will learn the importance of ladybugs in managing garden pests. Learn why ladybugs are essential for a healthy garden, how to create a welcoming habitat for these beneficial insects, and simple steps you can take to support ladybug populations. Participants will make and take home a non-toxic weed killer (safe for humans and animals) and free ladybugs.
