WARREN COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

Through the week ending April 27, 2024: The following traffic advisory includes restrictions on the state highway system in Warren County. All work will be contingent upon the weather. NEW IMPACTS

T.R. 55 (Irwin Simpson Road) Bridge Rehabilitation - At the structure on Irwin Simpson Road over I-71, situated between Fields Ertel and Socialville-Fosters roads. Irwin Simpson Road is closed through May 30, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of Duke Boulevard, Innovation Way, Socialville Foster Road and Columbia Road. Intermittent lane and shoulder restrictions will also be in place on I-71 at the overpass structure. All work is scheduled to be completed by early fall of 2024.

C.R. 199 (Clearcreek-Franklin Road) Resurfacing - Between S.R. 73 and the northern corporation limit of Springboro. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, April 22, and throughout the project, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers and traffic cones or barrels. All work is scheduled to be completed in November 2024.

S.R. 63 Widening - From Union Road at the city of Monroe to just east of the intersection with S.R. 741. Preliminary work is under way, and traffic will be maintained as needed by flaggers during hours of operation, nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. In addition, the following restrictions will be in effect:

Thursday & Friday, April 25 & 26:

  • S.R. 63 will be shifted to the north on existing and temporary pavement, and a 10-foot (lane) width restriction will be in effect. Traffic will be maintained in a minimum of lane in each direction. Other restrictions may be in effect, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers as needed.
  • S.R. 741 at the intersection with S.R. 63 will be shifted to the west on existing pavement, and a 10-foot (lane) width restriction will be in effect. Other restrictions may be in effect, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers as needed.

S.R. 73 Bridge Rehabilitation - At the bridge over Corwin Nixon Road and the Little Miami Scenic Trail, near the junction with Smith Road. S.R. 73 is reduced to one lane, with traffic maintained by temporary signals. Smith Road is closed at its junction with S.R. 73, and traffic will be detoured by way of Clarksville and Corwin Nixon roads. The Little Miami Scenic Trail, however, remains open to bicyclists and pedestrians.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

S.R. 48 Widening - Installation of a thru lane in both directions on S.R. 48, to the north and south of U.S. 22, from just north of Ridgeview Lane/Saddle Creek Lane to Willow Pond Boulevard, as well as the addition of a second southbound left-turn from S.R. 48 to U.S. 22. Traffic patterns (lane shifts) are in effect, and intermittent lane restrictions will be in effect; however, traffic is being maintained through the work zone.

S.R. 73 Intersection Improvement - Turn-lane construction on S.R. 73 at the I-75 interchange and at Sharts Road/Greenwood Lane, as well as widening of the I-75 South entrance ramp and the I-75 North exit ramp and a multi-use path along the south side of S.R. 73 to Conover Drive. The project is scheduled to be completed by early Summer 2024.

S.R. 123 Intersection Improvement - At the intersection with Beal Road and Shotwell Drive. Project includes realigning Beal Road, installing a westbound left-turn lane, replacing a bridge on Beal Road over the Clear Creek tributary, and signalization. Traffic is being maintained through the work zone. The project is scheduled to be completed in June 2024.

S.R. 741 Intersection Improvement - Construction of a right-turn lane on northbound S.R. 741 at Remick Boulevard, as well as installing a new signal and signal timing at the intersection. Traffic will be maintained in the work zone, with intermittent right lane closures of northbound S.R. 741 closed between W. Lytle Five Points Road and Remick Boulevard during daytime, working hours. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2024.
